It’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe, life-of-the-party Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer until his own fiancée leaves him at the alter. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who bowls him over. The only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark – unless Robbie can win the heart of the girl of his dreams. With a brand new score that pays homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greet was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer just might be the coolest guy in the room. The musical comedy based on the hit movie comes to the California Center for the Arts, Escondido stage on Saturday, May 31st at 2 and 8 pm and on Sunday, June 1st at 2 pm. Tickets range between $55 and $37.
