Art in Action: All Ages Art Workshops
Art in Action is designed to engage all ages in a variety of art forms.
Every third Saturday of each month – unless otherwise noted (*), 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
All ages welcome - $8 per person or $15 per family.

Saturday, August 20 – Ikebana, Studio 2
Learn the art and science of flower arranging. This traditional Japanese art form is geared toward everyone in the family! Ikebana artist and teacher Valeria Brinkers of the Ikebana Sangetsu School of Floral Design will show us a video and lead us in making an ikebana arrangement to take home! Price includes materials.
Saturday, September 17 – Celebrate Mural Painting, Studio 2 Patio 9 am – 3 pm (two open sessions: 9-11:30 & 12:30-3)
Come celebrate your artistic talents! Bring your enthusiasm to help us paint a mural at the California Center for the Arts. Work beside artist Julia Anthony, the creator of the Escondido Public Library murals, to add your unique touch in transforming our garden walls. Children and adults are welcome for this family friendly hands-on introduction to the art of making murals!
Saturday, October 15 – Acting Workshop, Concert Hall Rehearsal Studio
Our Art in Action Acting Workshop is an exciting introduction to acting through fun and educational activities! From games to scene work and characterization, develop confidence while exploring the world of acting. Join the Center’s very own Amanda Zornada and Sharon Burciaga for this family-friendly event for all ages!

Anne Fennell is an accomplished music educator with a passion for percussion! Join us on a journey of musical discovery for the whole family to enjoy. Experience an interactive drum circle while discovering, playing, and creating music as an ensemble, followed by a concert with ZOOM!, Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Percussion Ensemble. Anne Fennell is a Presenter and Educator, Director of ZOOM!, and Department Chair at Mission Vista High School, Vista, CA
