Transportation Suggestions

Tips for Field Trips to the California Center for the Arts, Escondido

We know how challenging it is to arrange and pay for a fieldtrip.  So we’ve put together some transportation suggestions for your students.  Please make sure to check in with your principal or school administrator, as every school district has different policies for transporting students on field trips.

 

Transportation Options:

·     District School Buses

·     Other Nearby District School Buses

·     Approved Volunteer Drivers

·     Metropolitan Transit System (MTS)* -- Public Transportation

·     Arts Bus Xpress Grant Visit: artsbusxpress.org

 

*MTS Regional Day Passes for all North County Transit District (NCTD) routes. Only $1.50 per person. Minimum 15 people.

 

How to use the MTS

·     Call the coordinator at the Day Tripper Hotline: (619)233-9558.

·     Leave your contact information on voice mail.

·     The Coordinator will return your call and plot your route.

·     Be ready with the address of your school, the date and time of the event, and the number of people in your group.

·     Important: Request service to and from the “Escondido Civic Center” (this is the closest stop to the Center for the Arts)
