ArtSmart: Toddler Programs (ages 1-4)
Get into the arts with a fun, hands-on program at the Center. ArtSmart is more then just a good time – you will participate in your child’s development.
Appropriate for ages 1 – 4 years old & their parents/guardians!

Friday, July 22 – Water Play, Studio 2 & Pavilion Lawn
Dive in to the Center! Join us while we learn about the fun with and use of water in the arts. Parents/guardians and toddlers are invited to come dressed in swimwear, bring a towel, and sunscreen for this day of water play.
Friday, August 26 – Nature Outing, Studio 2
Discover how to use an assortment of natural materials to create art. Your child’s artwork will be incorporated into a larger than life ArtSmart tree. In addition to your artistic collaboration, there will be a guided natural walk through beautiful Grape Day Park. Children will be introduced to their natural surroundings and native plants. Parents/guardians and toddlers are invited to wear your most favorite hiking gear.
Friday, September 23 – with the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum, Studio 2
Bring your group of toddlers to Downtown Escondido for a collaborative programming that is exciting, educational, and value-packed. ArtSmart and San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum are teaming up to provide a memorable experience for parents and children. Join us to learn about the world through interactive play and explore the arts and create art projects.
Friday, October 28 – Perform a Story, Studio 2
Bring a story to life with ArtSmart! Toddlers will create theatrical costumes and props based on a children’s book then act out the story using pantomime and role playing techniques. We will also be offering face painting to enrich the dramatic effect!
*Friday, November 18 – Art of Sharing, Studio 2
Create art side by side with your toddler! For November, we will be focusing our art activities around sharing and collaboration using a wide range of art mediums. Participating in these kinds of activities can encourage your toddlers’ social development. We look forward to seeing you and your little one(s)!
*Saturday, December 3 – Holiday Tree Lighting, Arrival Court Lawn. Time TBA.
