EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND TOURS
Year Round Focus
Let your students experience our new, year-round, sequential,
standards-based curriculum for tours and hands-on art lessons for K – 12
students derived from the exhibited art.
This new approach promotes multiple visits and allows students to
gain knowledge and skills throughout the year.
Special for Teachers: present your school ID at the museum for free
admission every 1st Saturday of the month.
Exhibition Tours
Come enjoy 50 minute interactive tours led by docents trained in the
Visual Thinking Strategies. During
the tour, visitors will be engaged in a dialogue with their peers on their
thoughts and discoveries of the artworks on display.
Hands-on Art for Classes
Give your students a hands-on experience in the Center’s art studio.
Students will work on a grade-appropriate art project based on
exhibited artwork that addresses specific California VAPA Standards.
Pair an art project with a museum tour for added benefit.
Costs and Payment
Museum tours: $15 per class (20 students max), one adult admitted free
per ten students, additional adults pay $5 per person.
Hands-on art projects: $2 per student.
Advance reservation with a minimum of 3 weeks is required.
For more information or to book your reservation call 760-839-4194.
