Free First Wednesdays — Highland Way

Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Center Theater

Led by the charismatic Brian Caldwell, formerly of Glasgow and now of Escondido, popular Celtic group Highland Way will take the audience on a high-spirited path through heartfelt ballads, instrumental medleys and songs of whimsy as they perform the songs of Scotland and Ireland. Come for an evening of lively music and song, mixed with Scottish humor.

"Storyteller"

"Storyteller" the performance introduces you to T-Roy, the singer/songwriter and Neo-classic Soul artist.  T-Roy has chosen the California Center For the Arts, Escondido to showcase his Neo-classic musical debut CD release entitled "Storyteller".

"Storyteller" is a collection of original songs based on real life experience that explore love, truth and self-realization.  For those of you wondering, Neo-Classic Soul differs from R&B music in focusing on lyrical content and making social or personal statements.

There will be free Hors d' Oeuvres and a cash bar from 6-7 p.m.  The performances begin promptly at 7 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.  The evening will be hosted by comedian and female impersonator Donnell as "Grannie Pearl" from America's Got Talent.  The all-female R&B group S'ence will open the show and your boy T-Roy will perform all the way live for the rest of the evening.  Immediately following the show there will be free dessert and a meet and greet with T-Roy from 9-10 p.m.

Hubbard Street 2 Master Dance Class

Before rehearsing for their on-stage performances, Hubbard Street dancers start each day with a ballet class. Join HSDC for a master class, which will offer expert instruction in contemporary ballet technique, improvisation, or partnering. Master classes are generally 90 minutes in length, available for all levels of experience and taught by a member of HSDC’s artistic staff or a senior dancer.
