Volunteers
are at the heart of the Center! We have a place for you. From
clerical work, distributing marketing materials, ushering, to Museum
special projects, Art Docents and Art Angel who helps with hands-on art projects,
opportunities abound to help the Center.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Art Angel: Art Angels are a vital part of the museum
experience for students who visit theexhibitions.
Art Angels work with and help to inspire groups of children through
art projects related to the themes of the exhibitions.
Art Angels are needed for projects Tuesdays-Fridays in the morning
hours.
Education
Office Volunteer: Office support volunteers assist the
Education Department periodically with duties such as filing, sorting,
mail stuffing, data entry, etc. Education Office volunteers are needed for
projects during office hours Tuesdays-Fridays.
Museum
Docent: Museum Docents are trained to give tours of the
current Museum Exhibitions to visitors of all ages, including students in
grades K-12. Docents are trained in the Visual
Thinking Strategies (art curriculum that encourages critical
thinking). Museum Docents are needed to conduct tours Tuesdays-Fridays in
the morning hours and sometimes on weekends.
Museum
Office Volunteer: Office support volunteers assist the Museum with
duties such as filing, loan requests, outreach, mail lists, front desk
relief, store help, data entry, etc. Museum Office Volunteers are needed
during office hours on Tuesdays-Friday.
Office Support (General): Office
support volunteers are needed in various departments for both set times
and periodically Tuesdays - Friday. General duties may include
filing, sorting, mail stuffing, data entry, etc.
Center Tour Guide: Tour Guides are trained to give in-depth tours of the entire
campus both indoors and outdoors. Prospective candidates should be
comfortable with speaking to groups as well as assisting with tours at
periodic special events.
Concert Hall Gift Shop: The Concert Hall Gift Shop
needs enthusiastic and outgoing individuals who enjoy interacting with the
public and making sales. Volunteers work before and during
performances in the Concert Hall and Center Theater.
Usher:
Enjoy a variety of shows in our
theatres while performing various duties for Front of House operations
including ticket taking, seating guests, giving directions, working as a
coat room attendant, and providing general customer service to our guests.
Information Volunteer: These
volunteers represent the Center at the Concert Hall information table and
encourage people to signup for mailing and on-line newsletters as well as
dispensing collateral materials from Season Brochure to flyers about
upcoming events and services. Candidates should be outgoing and
enjoy the public.
Get the Word Out Marketing Volunteer: These volunteers
assist the Marketing Department in taking collateral materials out into
the community through store front businesses and local organizations such
as the library, community centers, etc.

Opportunities at the
Conference
Center
: These volunteers assist the
Conference
Center
with a variety of functions, including providing guests with Campus
directions and answering general questions; assisting guests with
registration and check-in functions; providing additional assistance for
miscellaneous Center events such as Mother’s Day Brunch; and
Administrative tasks.
